Michael keeps on paddling his way to the top
Krugersdorp's Michael Goredema again impressed in a canoe, this time during a 10km event held in neighbouring Roodepoort.
Michael Goredema from Krugersdorp finished among the top five paddlers in the 10km short course and U14 category during a flat water marathon event held at Florida Lake Canoe Club (FLCC) recently.
The youngster finished in fourth place in a time of one hour and six minutes.
According to FLCC spokesperson Jennie Dallas, the event also included a guppy race (for children under 12 years old in special kiddy boats called guppies) and a 20km main course for those fit and brave enough.
She said the race attracted a good field of nearly 90 paddlers with 14 under 12s and a dozen over 60-year-olds.
