KHS first team impresses at St Andrew’s netball festival

KHS' first netball team is ready for the netball season ahead after winning most of their matches at the St Andrew's School for Girls netball festival.

Krugersdorp High School’s netball girls have been exceptionally busy over the past couple of weeks preparing for the season.

For starters, they participated in the Menlopark Tournament in mid-March gaining some valuable training.

“It is regarded as one of the biggest netball tournaments in the country and the opposition that our KHS girls faced was tough and skilled. At the end of the day, it was the perfect opportunity to sharpen up ahead of the netball season,” said KHS marketing director Lauren Jooste-Coetsee.

At the beginning of April, KHS’s first team participated in the St Andrew’s School for Girls netball festival. According to Lauren, KHS finished in eighth place out of 32 teams with Karabo Motaung voted among the Top 10 players at the tournament.

“The tournament not only provided a platform for fierce competition but also fostered camaraderie and sportsmanship among players, coaches, and supporters alike. We want to thank the head coach for the SPAR Proteas netball team, Jenny van Dyk, for coming out and giving all the girls some words of encouragement,” added Lauren.
