Plenty of talent displayed at annual bowling tourney
Several bowling districts flocked to Krugersdorp Bowling Club recently for its annual tournament with Johannesburg coming out on top.
The Krugersdorp Bowling Club (KBC) recently hosted one of its annual tournaments, in which teams from all around the district competed.
According to KBC spokesperson David Parker, the participating teams included the Johannesburg Bowls Association (JBA), Bowls Gauteng North, Ekurhuleni, Sables and the KBC’s invitational team.
“The tournament included players that have not represented their district yet. Some districts use this tournament as a platform to observe their players in a competitive environment,” David explained.
He continued to say the tournament was played in a competitive yet friendly spirit and was enjoyed by all who participated.
“The standard of bowls was very high and some players gave their district officials something to think about.”
David added that at the end of the tournament, JBA proved to be too strong winning both finals. Sables placed sixth in the Colts and fifth in the Fillies.
“The overall winning team was JBA who gave a dominant bowling display which the spectators enjoyed,” David concluded.
