Bowls, tea and Wonderland fun

Ladies day at Krugersdorp Bowling Club brought bowls, fun and a touch of Alice in Wonderland magic while building club spirit.

The Krugersdorp Bowling Club (KBC) went down the rabbit hole with their Alice in Wonderland-themed annual Ladies Day.

The event took place on January 29 at the club, with 120 ladies and 15 men attending.

Monica Stevens, Manda Kunz, Hester Bothma and Shirley West.

According to one of the organisers, Ansie Fourie, the day included a breakfast, followed by 18 ends of bowls and lunch.

Carol Hannibal, Di Anderson, Laura Herwill and Marie Nel.

“This was a time for the ladies from all over the district to get together, and we all got to dress according to the Alice in Wonderland theme. We hosted this mainly to interact with other clubs in the district, raise funds for the club, and build spirit,” she explained.

Brenda Besseling, Rosemary Tod, Mercia More and Vanessa Mc Jarrow.

Fourie added that there were numerous clubs from the Sables district, as well as clubs from as far afield as Randburg and Linden. Each month, a different club is appointed to host the event, and this time it was KBC’s turn.

Janice Rothman, Marel van Rensburg and Ali van Eeden.

“A huge group participated to make this day a success, and the build-up to the day was amazing,” she concluded.
