Khosa Road Runners shine at Two Oceans Marathon

Endurance defined Khosa Road Runners' showing at the Two Oceans Marathon, as six athletes crossed the finish line with remarkable results.

Determination, discipline and teamwork paid off for Khosa Road Runners, as their athletes delivered impressive performances at this year’s iconic Two Oceans Marathon in Cape Town.

Six runners represented the club, competing in both the 56km ultramarathon and the 21km half-marathon. Khosa’s runners proved their preparation was on point, with standout achievements across the board.

In the ultramarathon, Ntsebeng Letuma delivered a remarkable performance, finishing in 06:09:23 and achieving a personal best. Chantelle de la Porte also impressed by completing her very first ultra marathon in 06:30:48. They were joined by Sonia Pietersen, who crossed the line in 06:51:57, and Merandi Roode, who completed her first Two Oceans ultra in 06:55:42.

In the half-marathon, Bongani Sewela finished in 2:51:41, while Dorah Sewela completed the race in 3:27:54.

This year’s race was particularly special for first-time participants. Both Roode and De la Porte completed their first Two Oceans Marathon, with De la Porte also conquering her first ultra distance, a major milestone in her running journey.

Letuma’s personal best, along with the strong finishes from all participants, were among the highlights that made the event memorable for the club.

Khosa Road Runners’ vice chairperson and social portfolio lead, Suellen Prinsloo, praised the athletes for their dedication and commitment.

“We are so proud of all our runners who took part in the Two Oceans Ultra and Half Marathon. We know the dedication and hard work that goes into preparing for endurance events like this. We salute your consistency and efforts and look forward to celebrating your next achievements with you,” Prinsloo said.

For Khosa Road Runners, the Two Oceans Marathon was not just about results, but a celebration of perseverance, progress and passion, as athletes pushed beyond their limits and achieved new milestones on one of the country’s most prestigious stages.
