Binder battles through the field for points in Czechia

After starting from 18th on the grid, MotoGP star Brad Binder fought through a challenging weekend to secure valuable championship points in Czechia.

For the ninth round of this year’s MotoGP season, Brad Binder competed at the Grand Prix of Czechia, finishing inside the top 15.

His tyres hit the asphalt at the Creditas Autodrom Brno over the weekend of June 19 to 21. According to the Red Bull Factory Racing team, one of the highlights of the weekend was Binder scoring championship points with a 12th-place finish.

Binder started from 18th on the grid in front of a crowd of 63 000 spectators. The team said he had to carefully manage both his pace and tyre grip throughout the race to ensure he secured valuable points.

“Brno is done. A 12th place today and I was really consistent and got faster towards the end, but was just too slow, so a frustrating weekend,” said Binder.

“We need to try a few different balances with the setup so I can feel more competitive.”

Binder is currently 13th in the championship standings and will be back in action at the Grand Prix of the Netherlands this weekend, June 26 to 28.
