Ilan warms souls during winter concert

Prior to setting the stage on fire, the 23-year-old chatted a bit about his journey on The Voice South Africa, a musical competition where undiscovered vocalists compete for the ultimate prize.

The Featherbrooke Estate community flocked to the clubhouse lapa bearing picnic baskets and warm blankets to witness one of their own, Ilan van Staden, The Voice Season South Africa Season 3 participant, perform live.

Dubbed ‘A winter concert in the park’, Ilan complemented the blazing bonfire and warm drinks on the chilly evening with his heart-warming performance of both oldies and the latest hits. He also told jokes between his sets, which kept his audience chuckling and having a splendid evening – to the point where they even forgot about the cold.

Prior to setting the stage on fire, the 23-year-old chatted a bit about his journey on The Voice South Africa, a musical competition where undiscovered vocalists compete for the ultimate prize.

“My journey on The Voice was televised earlier this year, after it was shot late last year. I was on television for about 11 weeks before I fell out on my way to the top 16. The experience was wonderful. I don’t think I’ve ever learned so much in my life – from the people I met to the network I became the part of – money cannot buy what I received,” he reflected.

When asked about future projects that his fans can look forward to, without spoiling it for his fans, he admitted that he has some projects in the pipeline that will bear fruit before the end of the year.
