Khosa Club about the 2021 hockey season

Khosa Hockey is ramping up to host a preparatory hockey competition with local schools just before the season is set to start.

Usually, during this time of the year, adults and kids alike would start preparing for upcoming sporting events, joining their favourite clubs or getting ready for athletics tryouts at school.

With the current and possible future national restrictions on participation in sport, it doesn’t seem likely that the opportunities to participate in a sport will be any more plentiful this year compared to the latter half of 2020.

Through the difficulties of starting again, making sure everyone involved is safe and healthy, the Khosa Mini Hockey Club is working hard to get their kids back to training and to compete again like they used to.

With this in mind, Khosa has managed to organise an event in mid February to early March, before the actual hockey season is supposed to start, to give their players a taste of that competitive spirit again.

In cooperation with Krugersdorp High School (KHS), Hoƫrskool Monument High School and Hoƫrskool Noordheuwel, the club will be hosting a Fast 5 hockey series for the age groups under 12/ 13, under 14/ 15, and under 16/ 19 from 16 February to 12 March.

Khosa is hoping to attract more players before the series starts, providing kids with an opportunity to play professionally while almost everything else regarding sport is closed or extremely limited.

Entry to the series is R150 per player, and more information can be attained by contacting 072 110 2821, 083 327 6109 or 079 813 4115.
