Hotspurs redeem themselves at the expense of Jasi

Nwamitwa Hotspurs redeemed themselves with a 3-1 win over Jasi Footbal Club in the finals of Top 8 Soccer Challenge in Nwamitwa on Sunday.

Hotspurs’s convincing win followed a string of poor results in soccer challenge games which are aimed at preparing the teams for the new soccer season.

To reach the finals, Hotspurs narrowly defeated Joppie All Blacks 2-1 in the semi-finals whilst Jasi struggled to beat Rwanda by a solitary goal.

In the quarter finals on Saturday, Jopi All Blacks won 5-4 with penalties following a one-all draw in regular time while Nwamitwa Hotspurs crashed hapless to Xihoko City 3-0.

Rwanda surpringly hammered Hill Zebras 3-0 on penalties following a scoreless draw in 90 minutes. Jasi easily overcame Mopani combination 2-0.

For their efforts, Nwamitwa Hotspurs received a R 5000 first prize money while the runners-up, Jasi went home R2 000 richer.

This weekend eight teams will fight it out in the soccer challenge games to be hosted at Nwamitwa Strong Runners ground.
