The Tshega Christian Missions opened a volunteer house at Riverside on Friday.

The house is for foreign volunteers who wish to come to South Africa and help within the missions and is called the Riverside Accomodation. The house is also opened for people who are looking for accomodation.

Tshega Missions is an non profit organization that is divided into two categories.

The first one is education that includes three schools namely the Lighthouse Academy, Lamb’s Haven Kindergarden. The second category is the outreach programme where the missions try to touch lives of the needy. They have the Orphans and Vulnerable Children programme, Feeding Scheme and Homework Club, Disability Support, Basadi to name a few.

The Tshega Christian Missions also helps Sara Primary School with their english classes once a week.Tshega Christian Missions receives funding from Germany from a foundation called MyKidz Foundation and this very same foundation is the one that funded the building of the volunteer house.

The foundation has been with Tshega Missions since 2010 and great results can be shown so far.

The foundation is headed by Heiko Etzel and Aarthi D’Hel-Müller, both from Germany.

“This house will be very helpful for our volunteers from abroad because now they have a place to stay. Of course when they sleep here there will be a little amount to be paid for the sustainability of the house,” said Lighthouse Academy principal Ellane van Rooyen.

The Tshega Christian Missions get volunteers from all over the world except Africa.
