Police in Maake have launched a manhunt after the brutal killing of an elderly woman at Madeira Village in the Sekororo area on Sunday afternoon.

Police in Maake have launched a manhunt after the brutal killing of an elderly woman at Madeira Village in the Sekororo area on Sunday afternoon.

It is alleged that the deceased’s grandson left home leaving her alone busy with her routine work. When he returned after some hours, he found her (deceased) lying dead in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds on the forehead.

Police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said the motive of this killing is still unknown and the suspects are also unknown because the deceased was alone at home at the time of the incident.

The deceased was identified as 75-year-old Serekele Rebecca Mathake.
