Women crushed to death

Two women died when a wall collapsed on them at Suikervlei farm near Trichardsdal on Friday afternoon.

According to the police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe, the victims from Sekororo area identified as Shalati Wanki Nyambi (61) and Mandy Margaret Mathole (31) were sitting next to a boundary wall at around 16:30 when the incident happened.

Ngoepe said the two women were sitting next to a boundary wall while a tractor was working on the other side.

“The wall suddenly cracked and fell on top of the women killing them instantly,” said Ngoepe. He said police have opened two inquests for investigations.

“The inquest will guide the police on what actions to take,” said Ngoepe.
