MAAKE: Armed suspects on the run

The police in Maake are looking for six suspects who robbed a supermarket owner of an undisclosed amount of money, airtime, cigarettes and groceries in the early hours of Thursday morning.

According to Maake police spokesperson, Sergeant Rufus Magoro, six men broke and entered Ali Supermarket in Mertz around midnight.

He said the Bangladesh shop owner and his coworkers were asleep when the suspects broke the burglar door and entered the shop.

“Four of the suspects were armed with firearms and one had a hoe. They attacked the shop owner together with his co workers with the hoe while pointing at them  with firearms and demanded money,” said Magoro.

No arrests have been made yet and police investigations are continuing.
