PHALABORWA: X-Man gives H.O.P.E in new 35mm music video

'The music video was shot in 35mm film by Facing The Wild film producer Pierre Jonqueres, which is a first in Phalaborwa as shooting in analog film is extremely rare in South Africa...'

Local hip hop artist from Lulekani, Xihundla ‘X-Man’ Mathebula had a new music video launch at Villa Luso on Friday, March 3.

The music video was shot in 35mm film by Facing The Wild film producer Pierre Jonqueres, which is a first in Phalaborwa as shooting in analog film is extremely rare in South Africa, but overseas it remains a prestige medium for shooting feature movies.

Speaking to Phalaborwa Herald, X-Man said the concept behind the song was to reach out to the youth that is facing all sorts of struggles, to give them hope and faith that all will be well despite unfortunate circumstances that one may face.

It was shot at Viewpoint and Eden plaza in Phalaborwa.

The song features a talented upcoming house and gospel singer, Boldness Mphuti from Namakgale who said that she liked the message and concept behind the song as it is positive and inspiring.

The song was produced by Rodney ‘Yow-Bee’ Bila from Lulekani, an aspiring producer and rapper from Lulekani. Davidson ‘DeeWizard’ Mashego and Mpho Tlhadi from Secret Wealth, a clothing brand that is growing rapidly did all the embroidery on the caps and t-shirts.

The music video currently has over 8 000 views on YouTube.
