TZANEEN: Three-vehicle accident ends with driver in hospital

A taxi-driver was attempting to overtake a vehicle when he collided with an oncoming cement truck, which overturned approximately 5,4km from Tzaneen towards Nkowankowa on the R36.

At around 15:00 this afternoon, the driver of the taxi was headed in the Tzaneen direction when he reportedly attempted to overtake a vehicle.

He then collided with a cement truck travelling in the opposite direction.

The cement truck then overturned, and slid approximately 10m along the asphalt.

The taxi then further collided with another taxi behind the cement truck.

The second taxi and third vehicle involved in the accident.

The driver of the first taxi was seriously injured according to a representative of a towing service at the scene.

He was then rushed to hospital for treatment.
