HOEDSPRUIT: Redelinghuys murder-one suspect caught

It is believed that the Lewele was one of the men who were involved in the murder of Christo Redelinghuys on November 19.

Hoedspruit police arrested 24 year-old Nonny Lewele for two cases of house breaking on Friday, November 24, he was also later linked to the murder of 60 year-old Christo Redelinghuys.

“The suspect was initially arrested with two other accomplices, Lewis Malebe (38) and Ishmael Monyela (30), following a tip off from community members which led to the arrest of the suspects,” Sergeant Livhuwani Mulaudzi, Hoedspruit Police Spokesperson told the Herald.

It is believed that the Lewele was one of the men who were involved in the murder of Christo Redelinghuys on November 19.

“According to information, the victim went outside together with his daughter to lock their gate at 20:00.

After locking the gate while proceeding back to the house, they noticed three armed men standing next to the house,” stated Lt. Col Moatshe Ngoepe, Limpopo Police Spokesperson.

After noticing the three men, the victim then asked what they want.

Without replying his question, a suspect then shot the victim.

The suspects appeared before the Hoedspruit Periodic Court and were remanded in custody while police are still investigating, and will appear again on December 3 before the Hoedspruit Periodical Court.

The motive behind the murder of Redelinghuys is still unknown.
