Mayor joins town watch
Maruleng Municipality mayor, Tsheko Musolwa visited Hoedspruit Town Watch during one of their patrols on Wednesday, May 11 to observe firsthand how they operate.

“The mayor and his entourage wanted to see what is happening in Hoedspruit at night,” said Thierry Boulanger from Hoedspruit Town Watch. The mayor was accompanied by the chief licensing and traffic officer, Tau Mogoboya, and other directors.
Boulanger said they spent time establishing what the traffic flow will be from the proposed new Berlin development. “The mayor and his entourage were also shown Plastic View by night as well as the trucks parking in town. “Some truck drivers were addressed by the mayor and the chief traffic officer and in some cases were asked to move their vehicles.

Traffic on the R40 that was speeding and disobeying the stop signs was also observed,” Boulanger said. “Town Watch is extremely pleased that the mayor and his entourage took the trouble to come out on patrol from 22:00 to 24:00 and see for themselves that what happens at night in our town is impressive,” he added.
“I personally am not aware that any other town’s mayor has done this in the past. “As a conclusion to this event, rest assured that we have a mayor that is engaging and values the community’s input,” he concluded.
