Accident claims six young lives

Six young people lost their lives after a head-on accident between a Toyota Corolla and a Toyota Tazz at Xitlhelani village in Malamulele on Saturday, July 1.

Four people died at the scene and two people passed away in the hospital. Reports state drunk and reckless driving as the possible causes of the accident.

Limpopo MEC for Transport and Community Safety, Florence Radzilani sent messages of condolences to the grieving families of the deceased.

She raised concerns on the number of accidents caused by human errors. “Since the beginning of the year, Limpopo has reported accidents emanating from people who ignore the rules of the road hence the number of fatalities has risen.”

Radzilani has also called on safety promotion officials to start a campaign for the prevention of accidents at night and early morning.
