Gang members that stole an ATM caught

Police made a major breakthrough on Thursday last week when they arrested four suspects in connection with a robbery at the Total Filling Station in Giyani.

A few months ago, a group of about ten suspects allegedly entered the garage, held the security guards inside the guardroom at gunpoint, and ordered them to lie down. They then tied them up, loaded an ATM Express machine containing an undisclosed amount of cash onto a Ford Ranger bakkie and fled the scene with it.

The security officers and staff who were tied up were found by their coworkers reporting for duty the next morning. During an operation held last Thursday night until the early hours of Friday by members of the Provincial Tracking Team in collaboration with the Murder and Robbery Unit, four suspects were traced to different locations in Giyani.
