Lowveld Academy asks for sponsors for campaign
Lowveld Academy (LA) launched a ‘Friends of LA’ initiative to support learners at the school.

“Prospective donors will make it possible for the school to extend its current counselling services to those who need it most. This creates a haven for growth, healing, and personal development,” said Tilana Harding of LA. “Donors’ support will also be used to enhance learner’s academic performance as well as a lunchbox programme providing nutritious meals to those in need. “Less fortunate, high-achieving learners will be enabled to participate in cultural and sports events without financial concerns.”
“LA would like to support these youngsters by being a beacon of hope they deserve. Please join us in the mission of ‘changing the world, one child at a time’.” She said although LA is a community of vibrant young minds who aspire to reach their academic, cultural, and sports goals, the reality of their circumstances casts a shadow over their dreams. “Many children within our school face formidable barriers, and financial and social restraints that exclude them from the opportunities essential for holistic development.”

“Numerous promising learners are held back from realising their full academic potential due to a lack of resources and support. Insufficient access to educational tools, tutoring, and additional learning opportunities places them at a disadvantage, hindering their academic growth.” According to Harding, talented individuals with a passion for culture and sports find themselves on the sidelines due to financial constraints.
“The inability to afford participation fees and necessary equipment denies them the chance to showcase their talents and achieve excellence in these vital aspects of personal development. “Beyond the visible hurdles, there lies a profound need for emotional support. Children in our community grapple with social well-being challenges, trauma, and emotional hardships. Unfortunately, limited counseling resources exacerbate their struggles, hindering their ability to cope with the complexities of adolescence,” she added.

She said that by contributing to the cause, donors are directly addressing the multifaceted challenges faced by learners, providing the essential support needed for academic, cultural, and sports achievements. “Together, let us bridge the gaps, empower these young minds, and pave the way for a brighter and more inclusive future at LA. Join us in the mission of ‘changing the world one child at a time’,” concluded Harding. Contact LA for banking details or debit order forms at 015 793 3750 or email hoedspruit@lowveldacademy.co.za.
