Maite’s new book shares of her life’s experiences

Writing her own life’s story, is what led to Maite Mmola from Motjeteng village to published a book, Growing Up, Disadvantaged but Advantageous.

Mmola describes growing up and the difficulties she had to overcome. “I wrote the book as a way to heal, and inspire and motivate those who feel they can’t make. “I believe it will also encourage others to seek help whenever they find themselves in unfortunate circumstances that prevent them from making it in life. I wanted to underline the importance of appreciating your parents who work so hard to support their children.

I also want to encourage parents to be there for their children regardless of how they their own childhood circumstances. “We all deserve appreciation, attention, support and affection,” said Mmola. The book describes Mmola’s difficult childhood and upbringing. She never got parental love, affection or any form of support from her family. But through her own pursuits and willpower, she was able to prevail. After all the difficulties; she remained humble, attentive, kind, loving, respectful, humane and caring.

Her story tells that a family background does not define who your are. She attended primary school at Mogoboya Ramodike, high school at Seboye and completed matric at Mafutsane Secondary School.
