Medals for Lowveld Academy athletes

Lowveld Academy athletes shine at Mopani West District Athletics Championships, qualifying for a provincial event.

LIMPOPO – On Friday, February 28, Lowveld Academy (LA) Hoedspruit athletes took part in the Mopani West District Secondary Athletics Championships held at Nkowankowa Stadium.

This was a qualification event for the provincial championship, which will be held in Polokwane on March 8.

LA thanked Seemo Construction, who sponsored the athletes’ transport for the day.

Athletes from LA that will represent the Mopani district during the provincial championships are:

• Megan Britz, gold girls’ u/17 100m hurdles
• Luyanda Zwane, silver girls’ u/17 long jump
• Kgomotso Molefe, silver boys’ u/17 high jump (joint first, silver in his event)
• Hlonipho Ngobeni, silver boys’ u/19 400m
•Mantome Maroko, silver girls’ u/15 long jump
• Sefura Mabuza, silver girls’ u/19 200m, bronze 400m
• Mieke Craucamp, bronze girls’ u/15 shotput
• Laya Dunne, bronze girls’ u/19 800m.
