With continued practice and dedication, the teams are poised to grow stronger and achieve success in upcoming events.

LIMPOPO – Kingfisher Private School took part in a sports and cultural excursion to The King’s Court School in Modjadjiskloof on Saturday, May 24.

Though the teams faced tough competition, the day was filled with joy, laughter, and valuable learning experiences for all students involved.

The school’s netball teams played in several matches against other schools. While they did not secure any wins, the players showed determination and school pride throughout. With continued practice and dedication, the teams are poised to grow stronger and achieve success in upcoming events. The senior girls gave their all in three challenging matches but unfortunately came up short in each.

In soccer, the boys also played with passion and commitment, but the day did not go in their favour. Despite their efforts, neither team made it to the semifinals. “I am very proud of them,” said Coach Masilela. “They gave everything they had.”

The chess teams had a solid showing, especially the Gr 8 and Gr 9 group, who tied for fourth place after competing in five back-to-back games without any breaks. The Gr 10–12 chess matches were mixed, with more losses than wins. Overall, the school placed fifth out of five participating schools.

Many of the experienced chess players also took part in the soccer matches, while the chess team had several new players gaining their first competitive experience. “We have a long way to go to build their confidence,” the school commented.

Despite the results, the trip was a valuable opportunity for learners to compete, bond, and grow, both on and off the field.
