LIMPOPO – The Deputy Minister of Police, Cassel Mathale, will join local leaders and senior SAPS management on Saturday, December 13, to honour the life and service of Constable Tlhonolofatso Fredens Machete (31) of Ritavi Police Station.

Constable Machete died in the early hours of Monday, December 8, after she was fatally shot by a police sergeant from the Mopani District, during what is believed to have been a domestic dispute. The sergeant later took his own life.

Limpopo police spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, says her death has deeply affected colleagues, community members and the wider SAPS family, who remember her for her dedication, professionalism and commitment to the fight against crime.

A formal funeral ceremony will take place to acknowledge her contribution to public safety and to pay tribute to her service.
