3rd suspect arrested in KNP couple murders

A third suspect has been arrested in Zimbabwe for the murder of a couple in the Kruger National Park, following a cross-border investigation.

LIMPOPO – Police have arrested a third suspect in connection with the murder of a couple in the Kruger National Park last month, marking another breakthrough in the investigation that has spanned three Southern African countries.

The acting national police commissioner, Lieutenant General Puleng Dimpane, praised the close cooperation between SAPS, SANParks, Mozambique’s Criminal Investigation Directorate (SERNIC) and the Zimbabwe Republic Police, which led to the suspect’s arrest.

The first two suspects were arrested in Mozambique earlier in June, where authorities also recovered the murdered couple’s vehicle. A third suspect managed to evade arrest and fled to Zimbabwe.
