Hoedspruit police bust R1.5 million dagga consignment

Police in Hoedspruit arrested two suspects and seized 31 bags of dagga worth R1.5 million during an intelligence-led operation.

HOEDSPRUIT – Police in Hoedspruit, in partnership with Hoedspruit Farm Watch, have arrested two suspects found in possession of a large consignment of dagga valued at more than R1.5 million.

The arrests were effected on Thursday, June 11, when members conducted an intelligence-led operation and intercepted a vehicle travelling from Acornhoek towards Hoedspruit.

31 bags of dagga seized

During a thorough search of the vehicle, police discovered 31 bags containing dagga with an estimated street value of approximately R1 575 000.

Police confiscated the dagga as evidence and seized the vehicle allegedly used in the commission of the offence.

Court appearance pending

The suspects are expected to appear before the Hoedspruit Magistrate’s Court on Monday, June 15.
