Here’s where to register to vote in Tzaneen, Phalaborwa and Hoedspruit

The IEC encourages Limpopo residents to register to vote this weekend. Here are all the registration stations in your area!

Residents across Tzaneen, Phalaborwa and Hoedspruit are encouraged to take advantage of the Electoral Commission of South Africa’s (IEC) voter registration weekend on June 20 and 21.

Registration times and dates

The IEC has confirmed its readiness to welcome voters at registration stations across the country from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on both days.

The registration weekend gives eligible citizens an opportunity to:

  • Register to vote for the upcoming Local Government Elections
  • Verify their registration details
  • Update their addresses to ensure they are correctly placed on the voters’ roll

Limpopo: 2.7 million registered voters

According to the IEC, Limpopo has more than 2.7 million registered voters. The Commission is encouraging those who have not yet registered, particularly young people and first-time voters, to use the registration weekend to ensure they can participate in the democratic process.

Why registration matters

The IEC stressed that in local government elections, voters can only cast their ballots in the voting district where they are registered, making it important to confirm that personal details and residential addresses are accurate and up to date.

What to bring

Residents must bring a valid South African identity document – Smart ID card, green barcoded ID book, or Temporary Identity Certificate – when registering or updating their information.

Register online if you can’t visit a station

Those who are unable to visit a registration station can also:

  • Register online
  • Check their registration status
  • Update their address details
  • Locate their voting station

These services are available through the IEC’s online voter portal.
