Letaba Rugby Club’s winning run ended by Phalaborwa

Letaba Rugby Club's momentum was halted by newcomers Phalaborwa, who claimed the win in their Limpopo Blue Bulls North league clash.

TZANEEN – Letaba Rugby Club’s momentum in the Limpopo Blue Bulls North league came to a halt at Impala Park in Phalaborwa on Saturday, after newcomers Phalaborwa Rugby Club delivered a commanding performance to claim a 25-12 victory.

Phalaborwa dominate from the start

From the opening whistle, Phalaborwa showed why they are quickly becoming a team to watch in the league. Their physicality, discipline, and clinical execution put Letaba under pressure throughout the match, leaving the visitors struggling to gain control.

Despite moments of promise, Letaba found themselves second best on the day as the hosts steadily built their advantage and ultimately secured a deserved win.

While disappointment was evident among the Letaba faithful, the club remains determined to learn from the setback and come back stronger.

“This is rugby,” said Carel O’Neil. “One week you’re heroes, the next you’re picking grass out of your teeth. We won’t let this loss define us. We’ll take the lessons, work harder at training, and bounce back.”

Supporters thanked despite result

The club thanked supporters who turned out to back the team despite the disappointing result.

Letaba congratulated Phalaborwa Rugby Club on their impressive performance and welcomed them to the league following their victory.

Focus turns to next fixture

With the season still far from over, Letaba will now turn its attention to regrouping and rebuilding ahead of their next fixture, a home game this weekend at Letaba Park in Tzaneen against Kudus Rugby Club.
