DO YOU know of anything the businesses in the town centre can do right now to stop the GTM from implementing the parking system they have proposed?

We have two retail stores in town (Discount Furnishers and SpotOn Cartridges), and I believe I can speak for the other businesses in our building at Morgan Building on Morgan Street.

This new system of paying R300 per month and you can park the whole month is EXTREMELY BAD for the businesses in this town.

We are the ones who pay the most in rates and taxes, and this is how the GTM decides to use our rates and taxes against us.

I was getting very excited about the prospect of parking spaces becoming more easily accessible for our greater community around Tzaneen, because I expected the GTM to implement a normal pay as you park parking system.

The GTM is not considering the Greater Tzaneen Community in this very poor decision.

The majority of businesses in the centre of town will suffer even more under this new parkade style system, as it means that anyone wanting to do business with us will have an even more difficult time trying to find parking to see us.

Do you know of any action being taken by the businesses, or by the chamber of commerce, that we can all stand together to stop this inconsiderate parking system from going ahead. The GTM could rather implement a traditional parking style system that will benefit the Greater Tzaneen Community rather than hinder it.
