THE repair work on the R36 on the section between Ofcolaco and The Oaks, refers.

The contractor working on this project fails to abide to normal construction procedures. There are numerous “open” patches on the road for more than three months. This causes a safety risk when big trucks travel over it, a lot of dust is generated which in turn have a negative effect on visibility!

It appears, that the contractor is not experienced, cannot manage and plan and execute the work systematically.

We would like to know what measures have been taken by your Department to address this very serious situation.

We cannot allow tax payers money to be wasted by poor service such as what have been mentioned above.

The R36 is a vital connection road to and from Tzaneen and a big part of the town’s business is affected negatively by the poor condition of the mentioned section of the R36.

Your prompt response would be appreciated.
