Marhavi FC will stand up again after loss to play Motsepe league

Marhavi FC from Mavambe village outside Giyani lost against United Artist during a knock-out game for the ABC Motsepe League on Saturday, May 21.

Owner of Marhavi FC, Marlville Mabasa, said that they have accepted the loss, even though they believe it was unfairly conducted.
They will be going back to drawing board and make sure that they do better in the coming games.
“We will find a way, we are Marhavi FC, we fall and we will rise again, we never stay down,” he added.
In Castle Lager League they are currently in the first position in Steam A1 which is how they qualified for the play-off game for the Motsepe League.

“The league is divided into stream A1 and A2. Stream A1 consists of teams from the whole of Malamulele. Stream A2 had United Artist in first position,” said Discharge Hasani Shirinda, Marhavi FC’s chairman.
Marhavi FC was formed by Mabasa, a physiotherapist, who loves his village so much, that he developed this team with the aim to take young children from the street to play soccer.
He has the full support of his friend, Shirinda, chairman of the team as well as doing the marketing of the team.

Marhavi FC is popular among the villages in Malamulele and Giyani. In only a few months since being established, they went to the top of Stream A1.
With the help of Tony Mabasa, the coach, they recruited 20 players.
Marlville, a father of two and Medunsa graduate, is considered a role model in his community. He accommodates some of the players at his home and assist them with Mathematics and Science.

He also assists with transporting players and pays their affiliation fees. He has been organising tournaments in his village for the past nine months which are attended by more than 5000 people at a time.
“It is good to see a young man taking people from the streets and unite them through sports,” Shirinda said.
“His goal is to see this team promoted with quality players. He wants to make sure that some of the players go on the play in the PSL and is grooming them to do it.”
Marlville is also a pastor at Shalom Daily Bread of Life.
