The half-marathon was graced by the appearance of two former Comrades winners, Rufus Photo and Ludwick Mamabolo, who are now veterans.
Photo who is a member of the Murray & Roberts Running Club was the 21km race winner with a time of an hour and 15 minutes followed by Mamabolo from Nedbank Running Club in second place. Mamabolo completed the race in an hour and 18 minutes.

Tumelo Phago from Moletjie Athletic Club took third place with a time of an hour 19 minutes.
The first woman to cross the finish line was Rosaline Isaiah in an hour 30 minutes.
Golbert Mahlaule from Phalaborwa Road Runners was the first junior to cross the 21km finish line.
This talented young runner completed the race in an hour 34 minutes.

The 10km open pit race was hotly contested by Samuel Malwana, a junior from Nedbank Running Club, Hitekani Shikwambana from PMC Running Club and Isaac Moshia also from Nebank Running Club who finished a few seconds apart in just over 37 min.
Junior runner, Boitemelo Mashionora from Nedbank Running Club was the first woman to cross the finish line in the 10km open pit race, with 49 minutes on the clock.

This was the seventh year that Foskor Athletics Club assisted by Phalaborwa Road Runners presented this unique race.
Athletes from all over Limpopo could run the Foskor open pit race for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic.

Nedbank Running Club, Giyani Gallopers and PMC Athletics Club were well represented at the race.
The Foskor Athletics Club would like to thank the runners, the sponsors and the officials for their support. The club also thanked Foskor for the venue that makes this race such a unique successful event.

The organisers look forward to welcoming runners to the Foskor open pit again in 2023.
