Police fights crime through sports

Police in Phalaborwa have made it their mission to create a conducive learning atmosphere at schools in the region.

On Friday, February 3, SAPS in zone 3 visited Makikele High School in Lulekani
for a crime awareness campaign. Learners were informed on issues such as bullying, substance abuse, theft, rape, gender-based violence (GBV) and other societal issues.

Afterwards SAPS’s male team played soccer against the school and won 5-1. However the girls showed what they are able off and Makikele’s netball smashed the SAPS netball team 7-2. The initiative was led by Lulekani SAPS spokesman, Sgt Reoh Mabunda.
