Phalaborwa FC appoints new head coach

Phalaborwa FC appoints local coach Bongani Paballo Sebopela to improve team performance in the SAFA Hollywoodbets Mopani Regional League.

LIMPOPO – Phalaborwa Football Club has taken a significant step forward by appointing a more experienced coach to guide the team.

The club has named Bongani Paballo Sebopela as head coach, a 32-year-old tactician who holds a South African Football Association (Safa) D licence and has recently completed his Safa C licence.

“We would like to welcome the coach back to his hometown of Phalaborwa after spending two seasons at Carltonville Future Stars under the SAFA West Rand Region Hollywoodbets League. We will give him all the support as a football club and wish him all the best in his new role,” said club president Kala Manyama.

After eight games, Phalaborwa FC sits in 11th place in the SAFA Hollywoodbets Mopani Regional League, having secured nine points at an average of 1.1 points per game.

With 21 matches remaining, the club has ample opportunity to improve its standing.

“We still have 22 games to go before the end of the season, and we are hoping to improve, do better, and hopefully finish among the top four teams,” Manyama added.

Sebopela expressed his excitement about returning home and his commitment to enhancing the team’s performance.

“I’m hoping to get full-circle support from management, staff, and players to achieve our season mandate. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Phalaborwa Football Club for making me the face of the team,” he said.

The club has also strengthened its infrastructure by acquiring a 15-seater minibus for player transportation to practices at Impala Park Stadium.

Manyama concluded with a message of encouragement: “Let’s continue to work hard on the field as players and find strategic ways to move the team forward as management.”
