Frans du Toit rugby teams dominate friendlies

Frans du Toit High impressed in rugby friendlies against All Saints and Curro Heuwelkruin, showing strong form ahead of the league opener.

LIMPOPO – Frans du Toit High School recently hosted friendly rugby matches against All Saints and Curro Heuwelkruin as part of their preparations for the upcoming league season, which kicks off on Saturday, May 10.

Sean Knoetze, the school’s sports organiser and a member of the coaching staff for both the u/16 and first teams, told the Herald that the purpose of the games was to assess team readiness ahead of the league.

The Frans du Toit teams delivered impressive performances across the board.

The u/14 team overwhelmed Curro Heuwelkruin with a staggering 86–0 victory.

The u/15s secured a solid 19–7 win against All Saints, and the u/16s triumphed 44–7 over Curro Heuwelkruin.

The first team capped off the day with a dominant 65–7 win against Curro Heuwelkruin, underlining their preparedness for the upcoming season.

Knoetze expressed satisfaction with the teams’ performances, noting progress but acknowledging there’s still room for improvement.

“We are fully prepared for the upcoming league matches. As a team, we believe we’re strong in all areas, but we also understand the importance of staying focused and being ready for the challenges ahead. We’re committed to making the school and community proud,” he said.

Frans du Toit’s league campaign begins at home against Hoërskool Piet Potgieter on Saturday, May 10.
