Young hockey talent and his provincial impact
Promising Limpopo hockey star Comfort Chiloane’s journey from first stick at six to provincial representation and championship glory.
HOEDSPRUIT – At just six years old, Comfort Chiloane picked up a hockey stick for the first time and never looked back.
What began as a playful interest soon grew into a burning passion that would shape his path, define his goals, and inspire those around him.
Now a proud former learner at Merensky Agricultural Academy, Comfort emerged as one of Limpopo’s promising young talents in hockey, having already left his mark on the field and setting his sights on even greater heights.
In 2019, he had his first breakthrough when he represented Limpopo province in hockey.
“It was an honour and a life-changing experience,” he recalls. “I realised then that this sport could be more than just a game for me, it could be my future.”

That opportunity not only sharpened his skills but deepened his love and commitment to the sport.
His proudest achievement came in 2022, when he played an integral role in the Merensky u/16 A hockey team that won the Limpopo championship.
“That win was about more than just lifting a trophy,” he said. “It was about discipline, teamwork, and trusting the process. We worked hard and believed in each other.”
