Red School swimmers make gala splash
Three Phalaborwa Primary swimmers shine at the Limpopo gala, bringing home multiple medals and top-five finishes.
LIMPOPO – Three swimmers from Phalaborwa Primary School (Red School) delivered excellent performances at the recent Limpopo age group 2 gala that was held at Laerskool Bosveld in Ellisras.
Bonga Mathebula, boys u/13, obtained fifth position in 100m backstroke; fourth in 50m butterfly; a bronze medal in the 50m backstroke; was fourth in the 100m backstroke and received a silver medal in 200m individual medley.
Izeldi van Niekerk, girls u/12, obtained fifth position in the 100m breaststroke, sixth in 50m butterfly, fourth in 50m backstroke, fourth in 100m backstroke and seventh in the 200m individual medley.
Charmé van Niekerk, girls u/10, took home three medals after obtaining fifth place in the 50m breast stroke, bronze medal in 50m butterfly, bronze in 50m backstroke, fourth in 50m freestyle and bronze medal in the 200m individual medley.
