Muni hosts a successful Agri-gold day

The Greater Tzaneen Municipality held their annual Agri-Golf day last Friday at the Tzaneen Country Club in Westfalia.

The event aimed at raising funds from local businesses participating in the activity of the day.

Giving an opening and welcome at the Country Club was GTM’s planning and economic director, Benjamin Mathebula, who also gave instructions as to how the game will be played by all teams.

Because some teams were made up of a larger number of members, they had to be broken up into two teams, each having a captain and a score keeper.

Some of the teams that played against each other as they waited their turn to tee-off.

As a way to raise funds during the game, teams had the option of hitting a marshmallow which was indicative that they have made a donation.

After a long day on the field, team leaders gathered up together for a tally of the scores while everyone else enjoyed a relaxing moment of chatter and some beverages.

The evening ended in a well rounded prize giving ceremony, which was filled with an exchange of funny commentary from the teams.

Officiating the prize giving were the Head of the Economic Cluster and acting Mayor, Councilor Sani Tiva along with Planning and Economic Development Director, Benjamin Mathebula and Gteda CEO, Kwena Maphoto.
