Twin Peaks Trek a successful outing
THE 2014 Stanford Grade 8 'Twin Peaks' Trek was yet another very successful outing for staff and pupils alike.
THE 2014 Stanford Grade 8 ‘Twin Peaks’ Trek was yet another very successful outing for staff and pupils alike.
The Grade 8’s set out on Friday morning 29 August from the Outdoor Centre to cover 80km of mountain hiking in the beautiful Wolkberg Mountains. The group summited both the Iron Crown and Serala, the two highest points in the Wolkberg Mountain Range. They also performed a much needed environmental project while on Serala, removing over 3000 small Pine, Bluegum and Blackwood trees in an effort to preserve the rare grasslands biome on the mountains slopes. The Grade 8’s returned to civilisation a week later, tired and dirty but proud to have completed such a challenging expedition. Congratulations to all the Stanford Grade 8’s for conquering the ‘Twin Peaks’!
