TZANEEN: All art lovers take note, Strauss & Co is here on Wednesday

Leading fine art auctioneers Strauss & Co are visiting Tzaneen this Wednesday.

Strauss & Co are visiting Tzaneen this Wednesday August 16 at  Hotel@Tzaneen to provide obligation free valuations of paintings, sculpture and art on paper, and will also present a talk on the renowned South African artist, JH Pierneef.

Pierneef’s reputation has risen exponentially in recent years and this was further highlighted at Strauss &Co’s headline grabbing auction in June this year when Pierneef’s magnificent 1928 painting Twin Peaks emerged as the star performer, selling for a remarkable R20,4 million.

The art and life of this early 20th century artist continues to fascinate art collectors and the public alike.

Alastair Meredith, senior art consultant of Strauss & Co, will be presenting his highly acclaimed lecture titled:  J H Pierneef: A Period of discovery and mastery,to art lovers in Tzaneen at TheHotel@Tzaneen, 17:30 for 18:00, drinks and canapés will be served.
