Drakensig Primary celebrates learners
Drakensig Primary School celebrated its learners' achievements in academics, sport, and culture at its annual prize-giving.

HOEDSPRUIT – Drakensig Primary School celebrated its learners’ achievements for the year at its annual prize-giving ceremonies last week. Learners who excelled in academics, sport, and culture were recognised for their exceptional accomplishments across these categories.
Foundation phase:
· Luandré Meyer – Excelled in academics, rugby, cross country, Limpopo gymnastics, and Eisteddfod. He received trophies for best academic and sport achievement and a culture trophy for versatility.
· Zande-Lee van Rooyen – Achieved excellence in academics, mini-netball, mini-hockey, cross country (LLSV), and Eisteddfod. She received the trophy for best junior sport girl of the year.
· Thabang Ngoepe – Junior Victor Ludorum, best junior boys athlete, and u/9 rugby player. Awarded the best junior sports boy of the year.
· Ndzalo Shabangu – Recognised for academic achievement, junior Victrix Ludorum, and excellence in u/7 mini-netball and mini-hockey.
Intermediate phase:
· WJ Fourie – Academic achiever with the highest Gr 4 marks; excelled in rugby, 7s rugby, hockey, Eisteddfod, and orators. Awarded best junior orator.
· Rolivhuwa Mudanalwo – Academic achiever; represented Limpopo in athletics and excelled in rugby, 7s, and hockey. Awarded senior Victor Ludorum.
· Dithoriso Dilebo – Excelled in Limpopo athletics, netball, hockey, and cross country (LLSV). Received trophies for senior Victrix Ludorum, senior sportswoman of the year, and sport star of the year.
· Nienne Botes – Recognised for academic achievement and best progress; excelled in athletics, netball, hockey, cross country (LLSV), and Eisteddfod. Awarded best senior orator, trophy for cultural versatility, and best senior cross country athlete.
· Oratile Maleka – Academic achiever with the highest marks in Gr 6; excelled in athletics, netball, Limpopo hockey, tennis, cross country, Eisteddfod, and orators. Received trophies for best progress in tennis and girls’ all-rounder.
