Terms and Conditions

  • To ensure your vote is valid, please provide your full name, surname, email address, and phone number. A minimum of 80% of the ballot must be completed.
    • Online votes that appear to be part of an orchestrated or automated mailing effort will be disqualified.
    • Caxton employees, prize sponsors, their advertising agencies, and their immediate families may participate by completing ballots, but are not eligible to win any published prizes.
    • Prizes are not transferable and may not be exchanged for cash.
    • The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the results.

Rules and Regulations – Best of Middelburg Readers’ Choice Awards 2025

With regards to the voting process and the determination of category winners, and following our stringent calculations and independent audit of the Best of Middelburg Readers’ Choice Awards 2025, Caxton Local Media and our external auditors have confirmed the following rules and regulations:

  1. Voting Period:
    The competition is open for voting from 15 December 2025 – 27 February 2026, closing at midnight on the final day.
  2. Digital Entries Only:
    The competition is conducted exclusively in digital format, and only online entries will be accepted.
  3. Image Ownership:
    All images submitted via the publication’s website become the property of Caxton Local Media.
  4. Discrepancies & Orchestrated Mailing:
    Should any discrepancies be found within your submitted categories or entries, or if any votes appear to be part of an orchestrated mailing, such entries will be discarded, and the business/institution concerned will be disqualified.
  5. Mass or Suspicious Voting:
    Mass voting from the same device or location, as well as suspicious duplicate votes that do not appear to reflect authentic, individual opinions, will be invalidated.
  6. Solicitation or Bribery:
    Any form of solicitation, incentivisation, or bribery to obtain votes is strictly prohibited. If any business is found engaging in such activities, they will face immediate disqualification from the competition.
  7. Minimum Nominations Requirement:
    Any subcategory that receives fewer than three nominations will not qualify for the voting phase.
