Europe and South America are in the middle of major soccer tournaments. Which tournaments are these and what are the chances of winning?

The EURO 2020 is in full swing and this year’s tournament has been a wonderful display of European football. All the teams have now played two matches and this week’s matches will be the last shot at making it through to the last round of 16 this week.

Three teams have already progressed to the last round of 16 with Wales, Italy and Netherlands making it through. It has been a tough tournament for some teams notably for Denmark when star player Christian Eriksen collapsed in the first match of the tournament, the match continued with Finland walking away with 1-0 win over Denmark.

France and England who are considered two of the favourite teams to win this year’s EURO have yet to make it through to the final round of 16. The matches for the last round of 16 will start this Saturday the 26th with Wales who have already progressed playing in the first match.

The quarter finals will be played next weekend from the 2nd on July. The semi finals and final will be played at Wembley Stadium with the final match being played on the 11th of July. The COPA America which features 10 countries from South America is also currently being played in Brazil.

A few teams have been dominating this year’s tournament with Brazil leading Group B with two wins in their last two matches and Argentina and Chile leading Group B with one win each. Lionel Messi along with other team mates from Barcelona FC is hoping that they will lift South America’s biggest trophy this year.

The Group stage games will finish on the 29th of June with the quarter finals being played from Friday the 2nd of June. The semi final matches will be played 6th and 7th of July with the final match being played on the 10th of July. This past weekend also saw the first leg of the CAF Champions league semi final matches take place.

South Africa’s Kaizer Chiefs played against Wydad AC on Saturday and walked away with a win, beating the Moroccan team 1-0 in their away game at Stade Mohammed V. Kaizer Chiefs are now one step away of making it through to the final and will be facing Wydad at home for their second leg match at the FNB stadium this Saturday.
