Flat screens used for drugs?

Your stolen flatscreen TV is being used to concoct a lethal drug cocktail! Nyaope dealers and users are said to be using a new add-on substance to get the strongest lasting effect.

With the increasing number of house burglaries, community members rightfully suspect the crimes to be associated with drugs, but until now not for drug manufacturing.

The chairman of Nasaret Against Drug Abuse (NADA), Mr Morgan Bruiners, told the Observer that according to his knowledge “the powder is white powder resembling Tik, found just behind the TV’s gralss screen.

It is so strong that it could kill a human. The powder goes straight to the brain”.

A newly formed group, Mhluzi Brothers Against Drugs (BAD), consisting of businessmen, the police and male members of the community, say use of TV crystals still have to be proven “.

There’s a high possibility that this could be true, housebreaking always involves flatscreen TV sets and not the older box TV’s.

The deteriorating health of Nyaope users confirm that increasingly dangerous substances are being added,” says BAD coordinator, Mpho Kgobe.

According to SAPS spokesperson captain Khanyisile Zwane, a recent discovery revealed that stolen TV sets get exported to neighboring countries, possibly for the manufacturing of drugs.

A drug user who wishes to remain anonymous confirmed the strength and dangers of the powder to the human body.

“Few sniffs last almost the whole day. The itch afterwards is worse than that of regular drugs”.
