Sibusiso Mnguni, all tied up, with the bag of goods he confessed to stealing.
Sibusiso Mnguni was caught strolling in a street last week in Aerorand when guards noticed a suspicious bag he carried.
The guards and some community members brought him to the Middelburg Observer where he confessed that he broke into houses.
Mnguni (21), from Extension 24, admitted to stealing a Samsung cell phone, a TV, wheelbarrow, a gate remote and a wallet with a drivers licence, ID and an amount of R100.
“I stole because I am hungry, I can’t find a job and I live with a single parent,” he told the paper.
He steals with his brother, and then takes the stolen goods to Mhluzi to various buyers, he admitted. He was taken to the police station for a statement.
There is no police record of the suspect. “It is very common that suspects give wrong names to the police forgetting we have the fingerprints,” said Captain Zwane of SAPS.
