Two in court for theft of bank cards
Two self proclaimed businessmen from Extension 8 in Mhluzi, appeared in the Middelburg Magistrate Court on 16 charges of theft relating to bank cards and money.

Isaac Dapanyane Molapo (42) and Sam Themba Mbokane (46) face twelve charges for theft of bank cards and four charges for theft of cash amounting to R5 500 which was allegedly withdrawn from ATM’s in eMalahleni, Groblersdal and Hendrina.
In statements handed in at court, both Molapo and Mbokane confessed to having previous convictions and pending cases against them.
Molapo said that he is a businessman who works as a manager at Molapo Cash Loan where he earns R12 000 per month. Mbokane said that he and his wife were awarded a contract to transport learners to school and back. He claims to earn R10 000 per month.
The matter was postponed until Wednesday, where Molapo pleaded guilty to the charges against him. His trial will now be seperated from his co-accused, Mbokane, who maintains his innocence.
Molapo will appear in court again Friday for sentencing procedures. Mbokane, who is currently serving a 12 month sentence for being found in possession of a scimming device, will appear in court on a later stage.
•Middelburg police are requesting victims of bank card thefts or ATM fraud to go to the detective branch to look at photos of suspects in an attempt to see if they cannot link more cases with suspects on file. This after three victims of bank card theft recently recognised their perpetrator from photos of suspects at the police station.
