Breaking News: Coffin case duo to apply for bail

The two accused in the infamous coffin case, will apply for bail this week.

Willem Oosthuyzen and Theo Jackson abandoned their bail application during their last court case in the Middelburg Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday 16 November. Their case was originally postponed until January.

In a Facebook post by the National Conservative Party (NKP), Wessel Basson announced yesterday (Monday). that Jackson and Oosthuyzen will be applying for bail this coming Thursday.

Basson alleges that the investigating officer in the matter is in cahoots with the Economic Freedom Fighters and that they have already been mobilized to attend court proceedings.

“This means that these two men will not get a fair trial,” Basson writes. He asked ‘everyone’ to support the two accused.

Rumour has it that the state has applied for a state advocate to oppose bail. A trusted source confirmed this but said that nothing has been finalised as of yet.
