Customers dropped to the floor when five men waving firearms fired a gunshot in an armed robbery at the SASOL Garage in Middelburg.

CCTV video footage of the incident, shows how five men clad in caps barge into the convenience store at 20:25, undeterred by the high number of customers inside the shop and activity around the fuel pumps.

One gunman keeps an eye on the door and within four minutes it’s all over and they flee.

Customers and staff thereafter console each other, relieved to have survived the ordeal.

All their faces are clearly visible in the video and it is hoped that they can be identified to the Mhluzi Police, who can be contacted on 013 247 7000.
