Airlines warned on safety as jets leave storage

Airline safety is a key component of the aviation business. As planes begin to slowly but surely take to the skies, industry players are beginning to deal with safety matters and regulations.

At the height of the Covid-19 outbreak and travel restrictions, about two thirds of global airline fleet was parked.

As grounded jets return to the skies, regulators are worried about everything from maintenance errors to rusty pilots and even insects nesting inside key sensors.

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has raised concern on poor landing experienced by some aircrafts and other safety matters.

Insurance service providers now want to know if carriers are carrying out extra training for pilots and key personnel who have been away from work for an extended amount of time.

Many airlines are responding to these concerns by putting in place training programmes to alleviate safety concerns.
