China’s hits export snag: containers are running short

The wheels of commerce in China have continued running with production of appliances, toys and protective goods seeing an increased demand.

While Chinese factories are churning out goods for export, a growing shortage of shipping containers means the products can’t be moved to their final destinations.

Lopsided trade flows are being blamed for this situation. For every 3 containers which leave the Chinese shores, only one makes its way into China.

This has led to exports rates skyrocketing with empty containers pilling up in Europe and the US.

Passenger planes on various international runways hasn’t helped matters too as they help in transport a significant amount of cargo.
